We stand with and support people with disabilities to pursue their best life.
What is our mission? To stand with and support people with disabilities to pursue their best life, whether that is obtaining a job in their community, finding a home that meets their needs and wants, or supporting their personal interests.
One Vision is a human services organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Incorporated in 1966, One Vision first opened our doors in 1971. One Vision, formerly known as Handicap Village and Opportunity Village, started out as a campus of 10 cottages in Clear Lake, Iowa and was designed to provide supports for 160 people with disabilities. Today, One Vision serves more than 300 people across 20 communities in North Iowa and is the region’s largest nonprofit employer.
Opportunity Village is now One Vision.
In this issue of One Voice, we celebrate the transition to community living while also exploring the motivations behind this shift. Additionally, we delve into the realm of Thrift Solutions and shine a spotlight on employee accomplishments and forthcoming events.
The past year was a year of innovation, renewal, and growth for One Vision and the people we serve. As you read the annual report, we think it will be easy to see why we are excited about the future.
2023 was a year of bold innovation and change for One Vision. We updated our Mission & Values to more accurately reflect the heart-set and mind-set which guide us as we fulfill the purpose of our organization.
